Netflix Lands Jennifer Garner Comedy 'Yes Day'
By Mia Galuppo
Jennifer Garner is saying "yes" to Netflix.
Yes Day, a comedy based on the children's book of the same name that Garner is set to star in and produce, has been picked up by the streamer.
Miguel Arteta, who worked with Garner on Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day, will direct from a script by Justin Malen (Father Figures), who adapted the New York Times best-seller from author Amy Krouse Rosenthal and illustrator Tom Lichtenheld.
The premise of the film is that parents set one day a year where they say "yes" to their kids' every request. (Garner celebrates an annual "Yes Day" with her own kids.)
Entertainment 360 and Grey Matter Productions are producing the project.
Yes Day is the latest in a series of A-list pick-ups for the streamer. Steven Soderbergh's latest feature High Flying Bird, starring Andre Holland and Zazie Beetz, and the Jennifer Aniston comedy Dumplin' were both acquired by Netflix this week.
Garner, who is in theaters now with STX's Peppermint and will next be seen in the HBO series Camping, is repped by CAA, Management 360 and Sloane Offer. Arteta is repped by WME, Management 360 and Lichter Grossman, and Malen is repped by Verve, DMG and McKuin, Frankel.
