HBO Teams up With the New York Public Library for Your Summer Reading List
by Charline Jao
HBO is full of book adaptations: the recent adaptation of Ray Bradbury’s classic Fahrenheit 451, the soon-returning show based on Liane Moriarty’s Big Little Lies, and the much-anticipated docu-series based on Michelle McNamara’s I’ll Be Gone in the Dark, just to name a few. There’s also the upcoming new take on Watchmen, the Amy Adams-starring Sharp Objects, etc. etc.
It’s no surprise then, that the company is teaming up with the New York Public Library to celebrate storytelling. The national campaign, #ReadingIsLit (hopefully not the 451 kind of lit), is kicking off the summer reading season. Those in New York are encouraged to get a library card, while others can follow the campaign on social media. They’re sharing the books that HBO puts into filmmaking and television, and other content to promote reading: for instance.
